Not An Ordinary Monday

By Kezia Mariska - August 09, 2017

I’m not exaggerating. In fact, I had a blast this past Monday. Believe it or not, I got my day-off on MONDAYYYY and indeed well spent. As often said, Monday is like the other busy day because of the endless work we are facing even until the weekend. But still, you gotta love Mondays, they are always full of energy and so fast paced.

Having a time off is truly precious for me (and I know most of you do, too). So, all started with me and my crazy best friend, Verena planning on going to campus together to take care of some stuffs and ended up going to this newly-opened cafΓ© located in Saumata Suites, Alam Sutera.

If you are wondering who Verena is, let me do a quick shout out. We met and became fast friend about five years ago, back when we were in second year of high school. I love and always looking forward to hang out with her. She is a vibrant and fully expressive person (no wonder boys are always waiting in the line just to know her). She is the friend that I rarely meet, but once we met, anything become so much fun.

About the newly-opened cafΓ© I mentioned before, it’s called Native Coffee Tribe. As you can tell from the name, you will be welcomed by many tribal-themed decorations from dreamcatcher (by the way it’s their wifi password, just type dreamcatcher and you are in), arrow and painting of women dressed in tribal clothes. A very cozy place to just hangout, chill, or doing your work. If you are around, make sure to stop by!

Hungry hungry hungry. We ordered the same main course, Mie Goreng Jawa and a glass of iced green tea latte for me and lychee iced tea for Verena. Happy belly!

To seize the day off we went to the mall and guess what? We eat again! We are the happy little creatures that loveeeeee to eat. Actually, we were in the mission of finding Thai Tea (Verena’s all time favorite drink) and we did find it at Thai Restaurant named NAM. The Thai Tea was not like we pictured before, big, icy, sweet, fat everywhere haha… big no to this. It was really small, pale looking thai tea, and not sweet at all. So unfortunate, but forget about the Thai Tea, the time still cherished with a plate of pumpkin custard. Yum!

As I said earlier, my blissful well-spent Monday will nowhere be found if we didn’t do this all things spontaneously. Thanks to Verena, we had a great talk and laugh together. I have never been this free and loose. Since we are in the same boat, doing the full of struggle internship, we are able to share relevant stories and encourage each other. You know, it’s always nice to have someone to talk to about things. Thanks for the life update, Sis!

We wrapped the day up with another impromptu late afternoon jogging, eating my all time favorite fried rice (please don’t judge me) and completing a 2-hour karaoke session. Stress level free!!!

So, the thing is, whether you are busy as heck, have some time off to just un-wind and recharge your energy. It’s important to not over work. Try to take a day-off to maximize your time with loved ones or simply have a me time doing what you love.

Tell me in the comment down below when was the last time you have a proper day-off (I mean no work at all) or your perfect day off would be like. Or maybe mention your favorite thing to do during your free time?

See you on the next one,

  3. I’m impressed, I must say. Really rarely do I encounter a blog that’s both educative and entertaining, and let me tell you, you have hit the nail on the head. Your idea is outstanding; the issue is something that not enough people are speaking intelligently about. I am very happy that I stumbled across this in my search for something relating to this.
